Virginia Area Historical Society's Heritage Museum

Located in Beautiful Olcott Park, the museum complex consists of the former park superintendent's residence, a Finnish log house and a 1930s tourist cabin. Permanent exhibits depict loggin and lumbering industires, Virginia's fires of 1893 and 1900 and the interbuan electric railway system. A new Permanent exhibit tells the story of Olcott Park's Master Gardener Gunnar Peterson.

Admission to the museum is by dontation. Tours are given throughout the day and the facility is handicapped accessible. Special arrangements may be made for groups or classes.

Special Events

The employees of the Virginia Fire Department (Local 390) have joined together to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During the entire month of October, they will be wearing pink t-shirts.

You can get your own pink t-shirt at the Fire Hall at 115 4th Avenue North, Virginia MN or from the Gift Shop at the Virginia Regional Medical Center Monday - Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The cost per shirt is $10.00 for S - XL and $15.00 per shirt for 2X and 3X.

Proceeds from the shirt sales will benefit the Liz Prebich Women's Center at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
