Citizens should be willing and motivated to assist in the future direction of the City of Virginia. Taking part in the democratic process can be a rewarding experience and allows citizens to have a voice in Virginia's future. Applicants must be a qualified voter of the City of Virginia and must be a resident of the City for no less than one year.
Applicants must be qualified electors of the City of Virginia, and shall have been residents of the City for no less than one (1) year.

Application must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
All commissions are made up of citizens volunteers.
All Commission members must be qualified electors and residents of the City of Virginia. The City of Virginia currently has 10 Commissions.

Requirements to become a Commissioner
All commissioners in the City of Virginia must meet the following requirements, as required by the City Charter:

Must be a resident of the City of Virginia for one (1) year

Must be a qualified elector of the City of Virginia.

Does not hold any other office or employment with the City of Virginia.

VIRGINIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
The City of Virginia is accepting applications for a six-year term on the Virginia Economic Development Authority for the period January 1, 2011, through December 31, 2016. VEDA meets on the first Thursday of each month at 8:00 A.M. at the Virginia City Hall.
