Commission Openings
Citizens should be willing and motivated to assist in the future direction of the City of Virginia. Taking part in the democratic process can be a rewarding experience and allows citizens to have a voice in Virginia's future. Applicants must be a qualified voter of the City of Virginia and must be a resident of the City for no less than one year. Applicants must be qualified electors of the City of Virginia, and shall have been residents of the City for no less than one (1) year. If you are interested in becoming a City Commissioner, please contact the Virginia City Clerk's Office at (218) 748-7500, or stop by City Hall, 327 South 1st Street, for an application form. Click HERE to download a COMMISSION APPLICATION. or on the City's website@ www.virginiamn.us/commissions. Application must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by Wednesday, April 13, 2011. All commissions are made up of citizens volunteers.All Commission members must be qualified electors and residents of the City of Virginia. The City of Virginia currently has 10 Commissions. VIRGINIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY The City of Virginia is accepting applications for a six-year term on the Virginia Economic Development Authority for the period January 1, 2011, through December 31, 2016.
