RETIREMENTS

John Aro was employed with the City of Virginia from 1997-2017 in the Public Works Department. John was also a AFSMEUnion President from 2012 until 2016. John was a hard working employee whose skill set and smile will be missed by many. Thank you for your 20 years of service to the City of Virginia.

Deborah Okland-Public Library

Deborah Okland retired earlier this summer from the the Virginia Public Library after 34 years of service as a Library Assistant. You would find Debbie with a smile while greeting customers at the Circulation Desk; she added an incredible dynamic to our staff with her sense of humor and creativity. Her fellow employees also say she is very artistic and creative and they enjoyed her book coverings. With all of the knowledge that Deborah took with her from her 34 years of working at the library and with the public, she will be missed by many.
