Virginia Fire Department International Association of Firefighters Local 390
The Fire Department was organized on March 10, 1893 and the IAFF Afililiation was on April 10th, 1934.
The mission of Virginia Fire Department International Association of Firefighters Local 390 is to encourage a higher degree of skills and workmaship, build fellowship among members and within the community we serve. We seek to negotiate fair compensation for work performed, and to elevate the moral, intellectual, social, and economic conditions of our members and workers in the area. We strive to unite members for the betterment of their interest and rights as working people. We work hard to promote the good name and well-being of the Virginia Fire Department to communities we serve.
As a union we participate in fundraising for various organizations including the Muscular Dystrophy Association with the "Fill the Boot" fundraiser, the Salvation Army with "Stuff the Ambulance" fundraiser, cancer research fundrasing with our October T-Shirt Drive, and multiple local fundraisers that our union members vote to support.
Our members strive to support the betterment of out communities we live in.
We currently have 32 active members which include of our President; Frank Roark, Vice President; Joel Martinson, and Secretary/Treasurer; Elizabeth Smith.
