Curbside Recycling

HOW TO BEGIN RECYCLING...

The City of Virginia has an ordinance that requires that all residential refuse be placed in City designated refuse bags, commonly called “blue bags” before it is placed in a City owned dumpster.

The City of Virginia encourages residents to use our curbside recycling program as it will reduce the number of blue bags one would have to use.  There is no additional charge to have your recyclables picked up curbside.

Conveniently located RECYCLING CONTAINERS (near the City Garage) and a CURBSIDE RECYCLING PROGRAM will ensure that everyone in Virginia has the opportunity to recycle.

WHERE TO PLACE YOUR RECYCLABLES

Put recyclable materials in paper grocery bags, boxes, or baskets and place the bags on the curb in FRONT of your residence by 7:00 a.m. on your designated day.

Do NOT put recyclables in the alley.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR RECYCLABLES

**ALL RECYCLABLE MATERIALS MUST BE SEPARATED ACCORDING TO THE GUIDELINES BELOW**
