NOTICE OF BAILEY’S LAKE TRAIL CLOSURE

Construction work on the Baileys Lake Trail will begin removal of the existing trail, grading activities, and installation of the electrical system for lighting, followed by final paving.   Once the trail is paved, crews will begin turf restoration and constructing the new pier.   Late fall and early spring tree planting will be completed by City Crews   It is anticipated that construction will last through the month of September.   Once the trail is paved, crews will begin turf restoration and constructing the new pier.   Late fall and early spring tree planting will be completed by City Crews   It is anticipated that construction will last through the month of September.

We do realize that this is an inconvenience to the numerous users of the Baileys Lake Trail, however, once this project is completed we will have a nice new, accessible trail for everyone to use and enjoy!

 The funding for this project has been provided by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).  The Trust Fund is a permanent fund constitutionally established by the citizens of Minnesota to assist in the protection, conservation, preservation, and enhancement of the state’s air, water, land, fish, wildlife, and other natural resources.   Currently 40% of net Minnesota State Lottery proceeds are dedicated to growing the Trust Fund and ensuring future benefits for Minnesota’s environment and natural resources.  Additional funding has been provided by the Iron Range Resources Regional Trails Program and the Virginia Community and Lake Committee (VCLC) fund
